Drawing cars as a child was the first indication that Gerry Sowell has an artistic mind. Encouraged by a favorite Aunt, Gerry quickly became obsessed with items for the home and the emotional atmosphere they could create. When it was time the choice of school was Woodbury- a respected Interior Design College in Burbank, Ca. Extensive Design/Retail experience during and after his design education left him well versed in custom window treatments, lighting, bedding and accessories, but hungry for more creative depth, so he furthered his education in Art History and received an MA from UCLA in 1976.
Along with a love and an innate sense for color and style, Gerry developed his awareness of fine living by frequenting the old Saks store in Beverly Hills. With an initial purchase of 4 wine glasses he was drawn into the world of Crystal, China and Silver.
